What is the potential of the creative sector in the green transition?

Creative Circular Cities (CCC) is a project that puts culture and creativity at the heart of the circular economy transition. Discover methodological guidelines, replicable models, and real-life case studies—designed to support public officials, business support organisations, and NGOs alike!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Creative Circular Cities?

CCC is a transnational initiative that brings together local authorities, business support organisations, and NGOs in six demo cities to explore how cultural and creative sectors and industries (in short, CCSI) can drive circular business growth and promote circular lifestyles.

Note: Even though the demo cities involved are located in Denmark (Aarhus), Estonia (Tallinn), Finland (Turku), Germany (Kiel), Latvia (Riga), and Poland (Gdynia), we believe that the tools offered by CCC can be valid on a European scale.

Why focus on local circular transitions?

Local transitions are a crucial first step toward a full circular economy. They allow systemic change at a manageable scale—but concrete examples are still rare in the Baltic Sea Region and beyond!

How can CCSI contribute to the circular economy?

In the project, we see CCSI as having a dual role:

  • As influencers: they hold the unique power of shaping public mindsets and promote circular lifestyles

  • As innovative industries: they support and accelerate the development of circular business models

What is happening in the CCC demo cities?

In each of the six demo cities, local partners are:

  • Building enabling environments for CCSI-led circular transitions

  • Helping businesses develop circular models with CCSI support

  • Using creative approaches to promote circular consumption and behavior

How can this project help me in promoting circular transformations?

The CCC project will produce two main practical tools:

  • The CCC Starter Kit: a practical, searchable guide with methods, models, and case studies for other cities to follow

  • The CCC Policy Roadmap: a tool to engage policymakers on how to support CCSI-driven circular transitions
